General Data Protection Regulation & Laws
The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), came into force in May 2018. Developed to streamline existing data protection laws and increase protection for personal data of EU citizens anywhere in the world, the new legislation impacts organisations on a global scale. Any organisation collecting or handling the personal data of EU citizens needs to comply, regardless of whether it is based within the EU or outside it, leaving no doubt that many businesses in Australia will need to comply.
